1) Make a list of all the birds he sees this week. He needs to be able to name five of them.
2) Put out nesting material when he puts out his bird house. Since it isn't spring yet there may not be any tenants for awhile. But you can put it out now so it is ready and the birds are familiar with it.

3) Make the pine cone bird feeder and hang it up. They should watch to see what kind of birds are using it.
This is a hard elective but we wanted to do it to work towards the Conservation Award discussed on page 226 in the handbook. We don't have any details yet, but for our conservation project we will be having an electronics drive. So, if you have anything lying around with a circuit board (dvd players, tvs, cell phones, gameboys, cable boxes) hold on to it.
Ann wanted to remind the new boys that they need to be working on their bobcat (pp 16-36). The boys have things they need to memorize and they will need their parents help to pass off some of the sections. Also, our Pinewood derby is quickly approaching. Get out your kits and get to work!
Lastly, next week we are going on a field trip to the Avondale Library. If you missed last night you will need to get a permission slip from Ann.
